Being a brit I'm all for the strikers (once called the british disease). But the fact of the matter is the writers are the baseline creators. A fair days pay for a fair days work maybe a cliche, but it's a good one.
War and Peace. Conflict. I believe in Albert Einstein's summing up of the matter: "Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity. And I'm not sure about the universe."
Famine and pestilence. Old enemies, still going strong. See Albert above.
Cynicism. I do believe in it. But then I'm getting old.
Important belief. Laughter is the lubricant of life.
Things I don't believe in.
Religion (if there is a god, he/she is seriously twisted).
Spongebob Squarepants. (I reckon he DOES NOT EXIST).
Santa Claus. (He did exist, but I blew his head off last year. I will not have old gits clumping about on my roof).
Singing, in my car at the top of my lungs or in the shower
Savouring simple pleasures-the feel of autumn sun, the sound of laughter, the smell of good coffee and baking bread
Hope- I'm not cynical yet. (Maybe I'm still too young:-) ) I believe in the hope of tomorrow. That we can change things, that better things are possible, that I can be a positive in this world. Cheesy, but I really belive it.
(and I have to second the hedonism, dogs, and masturbation!)
Trying not to buy made in China. I did not think a thing about it until I watched a movie about Tibet. "Tibet, the Cry of the Snow Lion" Horrendous at best, those Chinese. The Dalai Lama had to leave Tibet in the 50's (I think) Recently he picked a young boy and his family to succeed him. In the lineage of Buddhist monks. Two days later, the boy and his family are gone (dead?) And the Chinese picked their own young boy and family to succeed the Dali Lama. Watch the movie if you have a chance.

new orleans remains my heart, my hometown, my culture; new york is my lover, london my dream.

"I, with a deeper instinct, choose a man who compels my strength, who makes enormous demands on me, who does not doubt my courage or my toughness, who does not believe me naive or innocent, who has the courage to treat me like a woman." (Anais Nin)
May today there be peace within. May you trust that you are exactly where you are meant to be. May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are born of faith in yourself and others. May you use the gifts that you have received, and pass on the love that has been given to you. May you be content with yourself just the way you are. Let this knowledge settle into your bones, and allow your soul the freedom to sing, dance, praise and love. It is there for each and everyone of us.
"Imperfection is beauty. Madness is genius, and it's better to be absolutely ridiculous, than absolutely boring."
Fear need not be a tool of realism. I think I'm going to work with it.
"...a season of love. it is only found in someone else's heart. right now, some one you know is looking for it, and it's in you."
"to accomplish great things, we must not only act, but, also dream; not only plan, but, also believe." ~anatole frace
"at night, when the objective world has slunk back into its cavern and left dreamers to their own, there come inspirations and capabilities impossible at any less magical and quiet hour. no one knows whether or not he is a writer unless he has tried writing at night." ~h.p. lovecraft

Your 4 are in my top 10!
My band, Dusky Jewel, is the opener for the Porn4Peace Darfur benefit Nov. 30 at Lucky Chengs.
Love to see you there!

Dancing, every day, whether you're getting paid for it or not, and whether or not you have an audience.
Hedonism, be it via sex, chocolate, exercise endorphins, or all of the above combined.
Dogs, mine or anyone else's. They are a better example of unconditional love than most people.
And I'm all for masturbation, always.
googlelinks... you have to wonder.
what does wear to a porn for peace party?

Kindness (within reason - after too many public displays of prickedness, one has to earn my respect again before I'm willing to be kind).
Awe (sometimes the little miracles are all there are - recognize them).

"what does wear to a porn for peace party?"
Err
A condom?
In fact, as my Grandma used to say:
"Nehm zwei, dem klein"
("Take two, they're small", although I don't think that's what she had in mind...)
At least
I HOPE it's not
Oh, and passionate about:
Voltaire.
The right to ignore Voltaire when it suits me.
The smell of chip-shop chips.
The freedom to make stupid people realise how stupid they are
The freedom to resent people more intelligent than I making me feel stupid
Good, I mean REALLY good coffee.
Any coffee (except decaff) when I can't get the above
Racism
Anything Italian, red and with an engine, except fire engines.
Laughing, making people laugh, being made to laugh.
My Mother's Lemon Meringue Pie
