The New Yorker Festival

......starts 28 September.

Be still my heart.

Readings by Paul Theroux, Annie Proulx, conversations with Norman Mailer, Salman Rushdie, book signings with Fiona Apple, Theroux and Proulx, panels on everything from the war to costume design, music and a sneak preview of The Kite Runner. And, those are the tip of the iceberg.

If anyone can get me a pass to this Festival, I will organise your home. I will create a zen flow to your kitchen. You will find your possessions you thought missing. Imagine. There isn't a panel I don't want to see nor a reading I want to miss.

Oh! New York! This is why I love you.

I'll ask around this weekend at the wedding. You never know. Send me an e-mail to remind me by Wednesday. I'm leaving Thursday.

What a great way to express that. Send some Zen over here and I'll reflect it back to NYC. It's great to see how much you love your city!!:D

You're bribes for a Festival pass are more creative and imaginative than what I usually offer:
"C'mon! I'll be your best friend!
I'll give you a dollar!"

Quin - I think your writing is brilliant. Your sixes leave me breathless! Oh, what I would give to make that kind of magic.

I'm sure I could find plenty to be bored by at the New Yorker Festival. I'm not nearly cool enough to understand everybody.

But I still want to see David Byrne and Calvin Trillin.

then you bail me out of jail.

I love Kite Runner!

They're making it a movie!!!!

I don't know if I'm sad or ecstatic.

not making, it's already a done deal.

that's the thing about a book we adore.. what will they do to it? can it meet the vision we hold in our heads? it's the reason my daughter, hrh, will not go see 'the golden compass', it's her book of books..

and she knows they will ruin it.
